CHRISTMAS GROWING UP

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!(my sister Marcia and I celebrating the Magic Morning!)
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care (though we lived in an apartment we had FIREPLACE furniture. Still have it - - and my stocking too!)
I looked forward the entire year for the
WPIX CHRISTMAS PARTY
Chuck McCann (with Laurel & Hardy puppets), Captain Jack McCarthy, Gloria Okon, Bill BOZO Britten, and Officer Joe Bolton.

I was always the kid who dressed up like SANTA at school and Christmas morning.

MOM & DAD made sure our days were merrie & bright
Olga and I did the same for our son, Gabriel.
The BEST PRESENT ever!

  1. Dear Craig,

Great Photos..I love the ones of you and your sister Marcia

"Rocking Around The Christmas Tree" and you playing Santa..

even then..you had the talent for playing a beloved character.

The best photos are of your puppets with Gabe and The

WPIX TV kids tv hosts/performers at The WPIX TV Ch.11 NYC

Christmas Parties of 1960 and 1961.

I remember those shows with great fondness and love and I

looked forward to watching them every year at PIX.

It's sad that those mc's(Except for "Captain Allen"Swift and

    "Bozo"Bill Britten)are gone now.

It's even more sad that those shows are lost.

    Hopefully?

Someone has those shows and WABD/WNEW TV Ch.5 NYC's

"Wonderama Christmas Cartoon Parties"hosted by Sandy,Herb,

    Sonny,"Uncle Fred"Scott and "Capt.Video"(Al Hodge)in the private

    video collections and one day?

They will make them available to their fans and the hosts/performers

    and their families..once again.

Thanks for sharing these rare pieces of holiday Magic and NYC

    Holiday kids tv history,

    Mr.KTV.

  3. Dear Craig,

You're right..I'm sorry..I've forgot all about mentioning Chuck

    in my previous post.

He is still here and working..I also hope that he still has his

L&H Hand Puppets and that..one day?

    He may use them again.

    Again,

My apologies for forgetting to mention NYC kids tv's

    other beloved clown,

    Mr.KTV.
