NAUGHTY MARIONETTA

"NAUGHTY MARIETTA" was a sold-out hit last night. Bill Tost did a great job handling Captain Bigboot. We really enjoyed seeing the show. Here's a cellphone photo I grabbed in the green room. I'll try to get some real shots from the LIGHT OPERA OF NEW YORK (LOONY)company.
The AMAZING thing is - - the costume they made for Bill Tost is almost exactly the same as the one Captain BigBoot wears. The same pants to the stripe, and the colors of the coat and hat mirror the colors of Tost's tunic (toonic?) There is magic everywhere!

FLEXITOONY GETS ALL LOONY

And by "loony" I mean the Light Opera Of New York.

They're performing NAUGHTY MARIETTA at the Players Club Theatre on Thursday, January 21. They need a marionette and called us (thanks, Larry!) He chose our pirate puppet CAPTAIN BIGBOOT. And by a gloriously odd coincidence, the Captain will be manipulated by Olga's dear friend and Bil Baird Theater compatriot, BILL TOST.

These ABSTRACTIONS ON STRINGS were designed by Buckminster Fuller and built by Bil Baird. Called 'THE PUMPERS', they would change shapes and outline to a sci-fi piece of music.
Baird used them as part of the variety show in his theatre, and Olga was one of the puppeteers.

ART CLOKEY was the hippie who invented and animated GUMBY - - America's #1 Clayboy. He was also responsible for the very Lutheran DAVY & GOLIATH.
